The initial ability to respond to a tactile oral experience of objects and food stimuli. The movements through the mouth cavity create the organization of the head in relation to the pelvis. The simple yet complex act of nursing creates an extension of the central nervous system to move beyond its matter. A system that has suffered trauma or is impaired to eat creates an imbalance to the effects and force of gravity on its system functions.
The development of gravity as the jaw and mouth respond to the simple act of sucking and bringing objects into the mouth creates a system response to opposing gravity. The central nervous system has a more sophisticated response to the development of temperature to the body. As an infant matures from sucking to head control and a more complex swallow of solid food, the internal rate of acceleration increases the same abilities for more complex fine motor skills. When a baby is unable to blow kisses or make raspberries, is it due to their low tone or their inability to reach and respond to oral experience as they would or should have developed with nursing in a more simplified movement. At the same time, the benefit of touch and introduction of stimulated developmental movements to a child’s mouth and body can and will help to create similar internal processing to mature those skills as they develop sub-sense cognitive responses.
If these events are not occurring in your child's life, always see a pediatrician or gastroenterologist to rule out physical interactions.
