This is where Movement Lesson assessments become particularly interesting.
Once you have:
STAGE × FORCE × DEVIATION
You can describe something a milestone checklist can’t describe very well.
Two children could both be “sitting,” for example, while the internal movement organization producing that outcome is very different.
The observable accomplishment isn’t the endpoint of the assessment. It becomes the entry point into the assessment.
