The Diamond Scale Functional Vision Assessment
Most evaluations are based off of the diagnosis and/or range of motion. Movement Lesson™ is different. We do not diagnose but show you where your child is deviating in vision development, how it is affecting their milestone development, and what you can do about it using the Movement Lesson™ technique and other necessary medical interventions.
WHEN IS THE RIGHT TIME FOR A VISUAL EVALUATION?
If a child is experimenting with multi-dimensional movements, then so are their eyes. A parent or professional should be able to perform the Diamond Scale Functional Vision Assessment as early as three weeks of age.
This evaluation should be stressed upon especially if the child scored a 10 or higher with the Newborn Movement Assessment evaluation.
More than vision, we know you want to help your child create milestone movements. This includes things like tummy time, head control, rolling over, sitting, crawling, standing, walking, speech, eating, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, etc. Without vision, none of these movements can happen well. But with vision, you open a whole new world of movement to your child!
If your child does not have upper quadrant vision, your child does not have a pubic bone strike which is needed for:
- Rolling Over
- Crawling
- Standing
- Walking
- Writing
